A slight concavity or indent in the base of your Hestan cookware is an intentional design feature and is not a manufacturing defect.
Clad cookware is made from multiple bonded layers of different metals, typically combining stainless steel with an aluminium core. As these materials heat up, they expand at slightly different rates. To accommodate this natural movement, the cookware base is engineered with a subtle concave profile.
As the pan heats, the base may move closer to flat. However, it will not always become completely flat and may retain a slight concave shape even when warm. This is normal and does not affect cooking performance.
This design helps reduce stress within the bonded layers during repeated heating and cooling cycles, contributing to the cookware's long-term structural integrity and durability.
Please be assured that a slight concave base is expected and your cookware will continue to perform as intended.
