NanoBond® cookware is designed to heat quickly and evenly thanks to its fully clad construction and highly conductive core. If you're new to NanoBond®, you may find it performs differently from traditional cookware, but with a few simple techniques you'll achieve excellent results.
The NanoBond® Water Test
A simple way to know when your pan is ready for cooking is the water test:
- Preheat the empty pan over medium-high heat for approximately 1 minute.
- Carefully hold your hand above the pan (without touching it) to check that heat is radiating from the surface.
- Flick a few drops of water into the pan.
- If the water evaporates immediately, the pan is not hot enough.
- Continue heating and repeat the test every 30 seconds.
- When the water forms small beads that glide or "dance" across the surface, the pan has reached the correct temperature.
- Once the water test is successful, reduce the heat to medium or medium-low before adding oil, butter, or other cooking fats.
- Allow the fat to heat briefly, then add your food.
Important: If you do not reduce the heat after the water test, the pan may become too hot, causing oils and food to burn or stick.
Tips for Best Performance
To get the most from your NanoBond® cookware:
- Preheat the pan on medium heat before adding oil or ingredients.
- Add a small amount of oil or butter and spread it evenly across the cooking surface.
- Allow the oil or butter to heat before adding food.
- Let food naturally sear and release before attempting to move or turn it.
- Cook in smaller batches where possible to avoid overcrowding.
- Use low to medium heat for most cooking tasks.
- Avoid overheating the cookware, as excessive heat can cause food to stick.
- Metal utensils can be used safely on the NanoBond® cooking surface.
- Allow the cookware to cool before cleaning to help prevent thermal shock.
